ATL’s Oniria aquarium project
We are proud to announce news about the exciting ATL’s Oniria aquarium project
Way back in 2016 we were successful in securing a contract to supply aquarium displays for brand new aquarium in Canet en Rousillion, France. Working as part of a large consortium of companies including architects, engineers, M & E specialists, aquariological staff, ATL’s Oniria aquarium project is a significant project. With over 80 displays the Oniria project will be a world class aquarium project opening in 2020.
Over the last 2 weeks our teams have been busy on site preparing for the delivery of the large acrylic viewing panel. Firstly our team of composite lining technicians prepared the concrete and waterproofed the rebate ready to accept the window.
This week has seen us successfully reach a major project milestone in ATL’s Oniria aquarium project. The delivery of the large acrylic viewing panel for the main shark tank.
Measuring 10.46m x 3.46m and weighing in at nearly 11 tons meant ATL outsourcing the production of the acrylic to another specialist manufacturer. After a painstaking selection process ATL finally chose to work with a factory based in the far East. The acrylic panel was produced and inspected by ATL before it left the production plant and arrived into the UK. After months of careful planning this week has seen it arrive on site and be installed into the rebate. This allows other vital parts of the construction phase of ATL’s Oniria aquarium project to complete.
Meanwhile back here in our factory ATL’s expert teams of technicians are busy producing all of the other stunning displays for this exciting project. More news about this and all of our other developments will be published in the coming weeks.
