Like virtually every attraction based business it has been an incredibly difficult time for the aquarium industry so its time to share a more positive story about the ATL rockpools in London project
The ATL rockpools in London were created from a culmination radical ideas borne from practical operational experience and important customer feedback.
ATL rock-pools for London incorporate many different features
For many years rock pool displays were almost considered as an after thought. Relatively unimportant, usually small and shallow tanks and so often overlooked in comparison to the grandeur of the more impressive ocean tanks full of sharks, rays, turtles etc. However the tide of thinking changed and world leading aquarium brand SEALIFE wanted to emphasize the importance and the amazing diversity of rock-pool dwelling critters. SEALIFE London seized the opportunity to upgrade their out dated concrete trough coastal pool display and we are very proud that they chose to use our ATL rockpools in london
ATL’s in house team of dedicated specialists designed and manufactured a series of prefabricated interlocking display tanks here in our workshops. Once delivered to site and assembled the tanks were all expertly themed with realistic artificial decor which fully encapsulates the structures to give a seamless feel the the area. All theming was created by ATL’s very own aquarium artist team. The series of tanks stretches out to over nearly 15 meters long so makes an impressive statement! Starting with a crab tank over hand wash sinks, a wave crash tank with head up viewing dome where you can literally see life as a limpet clinging to the rocks. These are joined to a series of cascading pool displays.
Concave and convex acrylic viewing panels
The design of these tanks offers multiple viewing opportunities either through convex, concave or flat acrylic viewing panels or simply over the top viewing. Magnifiers provide close up opportunity to scrutinize the inhabitants without causing any distress to the sensitive creatures hidden within.

Particular attention was also given to providing dedicated areas inside the tanks for SEALIFE staff to give informative talks. Cleverly incorporated puzzles, story boards, screens and graphics provide fun as well as other specific information for the guests to view at leisure.
Much of what ATL does is behind the scenes but installing ATL rock-pools in London gave us a significant opportunity to show case what we do well and can offer both technically and creatively. Lets all look forward to the coming months when we can all enjoy visiting world class attractions again.
