Clownfish aquarium tank

Aquarium Technology Ltd has recently supplied a new prefabricated ATL Clownfish aquarium tank for the St Andrews Aquarium in Fife, Scotland.

Although the display concept was based on an existing ATL design, the St Andrews tank needed modification to suit the available access. The aquarium display was built in two pieces with a detachable ‘crawl through’ plinth making life easier for the aquarium staff to manoeuvre it through the building and into position. To keep the weight of the tank down for the installation team the tank was despatched from ATL unthemed. A separate high quality tropical marine reef insert including a selection of ATL artificial corals was created. This realistic reef insert was added later when the tank was in position. The ATL reef insert created an instant ‘des res’ for the colourful Clownfish colony.

ATL supplied its own 360 degree formed acrylic viewing panels and an acrylic head up dome offering fantastic views of these ever popular fish.

The ATL tank is the latest addition to the aquarium which opened its doors as a Sealife Centre in 1989.
