History of Aquarium Technology
Following the management buyout of a large attraction operator's engineering wing in 1996, Aquarium Technology Ltd. was set up as a private limited company wholly owned by its directors and employees. The emphasis from the outset was placed on an incentivised cooperative team approach with an open and frank style of management, an ideal that continues to this day.
History
Thanks to the extensive and unparalleled aquarium building experience of the team, some having been directly involved in the trade since 1988, ATL quickly became recognised as the European leaders in their field and began to develop new and exciting products and services. Over the years many major steps have been taken to promote the company goal of constant improvement with the establishment of in house acrylic thermo forming and GRP production capabilities being just two examples of the efforts to increase ATL's independence and reliability.
Based in Weymouth, at the gateway to Dorset's Jurassic Coast, ATL has two well equipped factories extending to 12,000 ft2 manned by a team of skilled and experienced technicians together with it's office base which houses the company's management team, project, design and administrative facilities.
ATL operate a quality system approved to ISO 9001-2008, have been recognised as a Beacon Company by the South West Regional Development Agency and have a stringent and rigorously enforced health and safety strategy. ATL are long standing commercial sponsors of the European Union of Aquarium Curators and the company's chosen charity is the RNLI.
